On the other hand, an external Organization Chart is a summary of the flow of power both within and outside the organization. It includes all centers involved. The number of employees is also an important aspect of an Organization Chart. This is because the more employees the more posts of authority are available. For example, in a typical group, if the members are very few, there could be a chairman, a treasurer, and a secretary. However, if the group is very large, it might require a chairman, a vice-chairman, a secretary general, a treasure and an assistant treasurer, and many other posts. Therefore, the number of employees largely affects the outlook of the Organization Chart.

Preparing an Organization Chart depends on a number of factors. The most important among them is the hierarchy. Hierarchy refers to the flow of power from the highest to the lowest. The one with the highest authority is always placed at the top of the Organization Chart. From there, the arrows point downwards to various other authorities until the lowest power is achieved. An Organization Chart also takes into consideration the geographical location of the organization. If the organization has various branches located in different places, then they should also be taken into consideration. The number of employees also largely influences the preparation of an Organization Chart.
